Usually, when we travel we look for new places to go, new dining to enjoy and new entertainment adventures. You probably do the same thing. But sometimes when you travel you have a list of places you absolutely must return to. Dolly Parton’s Stampede is one of those places for our family. It is family friendly entertainment which we have enjoyed over and over again in both Pigeon Forge and Branson, Missouri. Sure there may be some similarities between each visit but when returning to Dolly Parton’s Stampede there is the things I love and hope to experience again but there are also new discoveries. My most recent visit to Dolly Parton’s Stampede was one of those times as we celebrated the holiday season with the Christmas Show.
I was invited to attend a media trip to Branson, in partnership with Stone Castle Hotel, to attend the #BloggingBranson Event in exchange for my coverage. No other compensation was provided and all additional expenses were my own. All views shared are 100% my own.
The Preshow!
Dolly Parton’s Stampede has been named one of the worlds most visited dinner attraction. But the fun actually starts long before the dinner attraction itself. I highly recommend arriving early! When you arrive early you can visit the stables to get to know some of the 32 beautiful and well-trained horses which are part of the celebration filled with stunts, trick riding and top speeds. After a visit to the stables and a walk around the grounds which are beautifully decorated for the holiday season, it is time to head inside for the preshow. Find a comfortable place to sit, enjoy a specially made non-alcoholic beverage. The party starts in the Carriage Room where you can get into the holiday spirit with the sounds of the season by the talented musicians of the opening act.
Heading into the 35,000 square foot arena you quickly get seated and it’s time to enjoy the delicious four-course meal. I admit I made a stop in the store to bring home the Creamy Vegetable Soup mix so I could take it home and make it myself for my family. I even made some cheddar biscuits. Maybe my biscuits weren’t quite as good as the ones here, but it was nice to revisit our trip there with a taste of the day, bringing back lots of memories and discussions about what we loved most about our most recent trip to Dolly Parton’s Stampede.
The Food
Your four-course meal includes something for everyone but don’t fill up too much. Dessert is a warm from the oven, freshly baked Apple Turnover. The four-course feast features:
- A Mouth-Watering Tender Whole Rotisserie Chicken (these are specially raised for use by Dolly Stampede!)
- Delicious Hickory Smoked Barbecued Pork Loin
- The Stampede’s Original Creamy Vegetable Soup
- Scrumptious Homemade Biscuit
- Hot Buttered Corn on the Cob
- Tasty Herb-basted Potato
- The Stampede’s very own Specialty Dessert
- Unlimited Coca-Cola®, tea or coffee
I love dipping my biscuit in the soup. That’s the best way to eat it! I know that some of my readers look at that plate and wonder “What do I eat?” It’s all good, and I mean that in more ways than one. There is also a Gluten Free and Vegetarian Feast available. With the food, there is definitely something for everyone in your family to enjoy.
The Show
As dinner is served the entertainment begins! Our talented performers enter the arena and the holiday celebrations begin while our busy elves are making sure that our food and drinks are quickly served so you don’t miss a moment. In addition to the talented riders, you and your family will enjoy the down-home comedy of Skeeter and Nugget, who help get the audience involved and I don’t just mean the whole audience. Be prepared as you may be asked to join in the fun!
So many aspects of the holiday season are seamlessly performed from the Snowman competition to a holiday at home. My favorite holiday highlights included the spectacular Living Nativity Scene and the beautiful ice dance performance. This holiday show brings all of Christmas to life with dramatic performances, a winter wonderland of lights, sounds, music, and costumes. It’s hard to name just one favorite part of the performance!
Our finale ends with highlights from each of our performers. Even Santa and his elves make an appearance. Then the two sides (Red and Green) compete for the ultimate prize! Which team will send the candy cane around the arena the fastest? Our team won!
Money Saving Tip: It’s no secret how much we enjoy both Dolly Parton’s Stampede AND The Titanic Museum. Right now for a limited time you can save when you purchase tickets to both activities in Branson!
Shows for the holiday season sell out fast. I highly recommend planning your trip far in advance and getting your tickets online so you too can enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season in a way like never experienced before at Dolly Parton’s Stampede.
