I admit that I have a weakness for quizzes that pop up on my Facebook timeline. My particular favorites usually have something to do with my personality and frequently include some of my favorite movies or shows (like Star Trek or Disney). I also admit to taking them with a grain of salt, because how accurate could they really be? But there’s a brand new personality test in town and it wants to find out if “You Are What You Like.”

YouAreWhatYouLike.com is developed through a partnership with CubeYou and the University of Cambridge. While it’s fun and interesting, there’s actual science behind this results of this personality test. Using this article Private traits and attributes are predictable from digital records of human behavior as a basis the test is simple and easy to use. None of that multiple choice questions where you wonder where in the world these answers come from. You simply log in with one click of your mouse and using your Facebook profile.
Your results take about a minute and a half – I actually thought it sort of fun to watch the timer circle around. Then your results in the following categories appear:
- Extraversion (are you shy and an introvert or outgoing)
Here’s one of my results:
Which I tend to think I am, or I try to be. But I am not only 6% spontaneous . . . I’m usually the one that says “Hey let’s do this!” I’m known as “last minute Lisa” as I like to just get up and go – sometimes 🙂
Up next you can find out which of your friends are most “LIKE” (no pun intended) you and which ones are your opposite. (BTW I did mark out their names to protect their privacy).
You can then share your results with your friends on Facebook.
Now, this is a Facebook-centric app, so you have to have a Facebook account. Personally I think it would be fun to see what my Pinterest and Twitter account says about me too.
Are the results “spot on?” I’ll let you visit and you decide! Let me know if You Are What You Like in our comments section.
