It’s been a busy summer for many families, between work and camps, vacations and vacation Bible school. It seems like sometimes as parents we are so busy keeping busy that the summer is gone before you know it and all that time we thought we would have to spend with our children is gone. With back to school right around the corner, you may be wondering where exactly the summer went and what happened to all those special times you had planned for the family during summer break. But it’s not too late. Take time to celebrate the summer and the approaching new school year with these five activities that you may have missed this summer.

Catch a wave. Make back to school cool by taking a day off and visiting a local splash pad, community pool or waterpark. Don’t have a day off? No money to go somewhere? Then create your own “waterpark” fun in the backyard one afternoon after work with squirt guns, hoses and water balloons.
