Walt Disney World bloggertunities: Making all our dreams come true

After moving to Texas I started missing my family greatly.   While my older children were growing up grandma and grandpa were practically a daily part of our lives.  We would visit them about once a week and it was rare that a day went by without a quick phone call just to say hi or talk about our day.   Moving 1900 miles away from them, with darling daughters no. 3 and 4 was pretty tough especially since both of them were babies.   I worried that we wouldn’t see them often enough.  I worried that the younger children wouldn’t have the loving, supportive relationship with their grandparents that the older children did.  So, we decided to do something about it.   We started having an annual “family reunion.”  Mr. Money Saving Parent and I, with the kids would meet up with grandma and grandpa in a city of our choice and spend the week together exploring.   Where was the number one pick for these reunions?  Orlando, Florida and Walt Disney World.

Staying right on property at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek made it possible for our family to make all our dreams come true.   We swam on property, played games, made crafts and enjoyed (yes even with Grandpa) tube rides.   Time spent together playing games, watching movies, dining and playing miniature golf were also at the top of our favorite activities.

But of course nothing could compare to visiting several Walt Disney World attractions.   After all what little girls (and their grandparents) could resist a chance to visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where the girls were transformed by the wave of a magic wand into princesses?  At least we finally got a picture of grandpa out of this adventure.  He’s always the one behind the camera.

Or how could we not all enjoy a visit with our favorite princesses and theirs with an amazing lunch on the Disney Epcot property?

Not to mention the amazing rides and entertainment.  (Yes that is Mr. Money Saving Parent in the tea cup!)

Each year a trip to Disney makes all our dreams come true.  Spending this time together every year makes my dream come true of the children developing lasting memories and relationships with their grandparents.   We adults get to enjoy the time to be kids again and see the wonder of what is Disney through our children and grandchildren’s eyes.
