WAHM share their success stories: Anne’s Thirty-One

We are continuing our series on finding ways to work at home and what other women are doing.  Some just want to make extra money. Some want it to be their full time job.  Others just love the products and selling them helps them save money for things they want to buy.  Whatever the reason there are some advantages and disadvantages to working at home, so it’s always good to hear what other women (and men) have to say.

Today we are talking to Anne.

Who/what do you work for?

I am a Sr. Consultant and work for Thirty-One Gifts.

What was so interesting about this company that you wanted to work with it?

I was purchasing the products for family for Christmas gifts, then decided to join to get the discount. As I got into doing it, I realized I could really support my family with my income and stay home more often with my boys. I already work full time during part of the year preparing tax returns. I thought, why not really try to get my business going. I’ve never had any sales experience, but I pushed last year and made my first promotion this year, and looking at being a director by the end of the year. What’s the hardest thing about working/selling from home?

For me, is I don’t have any set business hours. I am a Mom 24/7, then have to squeeze in my business in when I can. And sometimes that is 2 or 3am.

What’s the best thing about being a WAHM and working with this company in particular?

The sisterhood with all of the other consultants is amazing. They know exactly where you are coming from – plus my upline is so very supportive. The company is wonderful with freebies and incentives – iPads, electronic give-aways, trips – they really take care of us.

What advice do you have for women wanting to do this?

Do it! It is one of the best things you can do for yourself. It’s your business – make it full time or make it part time – and it’s FUN!

Do you have any special opportunities right now to help them get started doing what you are doing?

For August we are introducing purple for the first time as a color pattern choice and we are introducing Icon-It, which is an embroidered icon under the personalization. There are sports – soccer ball, baseball, etc., and for girls there is a flower and a crown. Our fall catalog comes out September 1st, so that is a perfect time to join with the new patterns coming out! Anyone who mentions Money Saving Parent and joins, will get a special something from me!

(Oh! that was a surprise!  thanks Anne!)

So there you have it – one WAHM’s success story.  Have you thought about working at home? What would you like to do and why?  Could it work for you?
