It’s been a long time since my best friend from college and my daughter’s godmother and I were able to spend some quality time together. Our last “meet up” was in Indiana where we gathered together to enjoy her wedding. But a wedding is a busy time and we weren’t able to spend much time together. That’s what I was thrilled with the opportunity to visit the Northern New Jersey area and spend a whole weekend catching up on live and love with her, and of course shopping!
Disclosure: I was provided with signature items from The Mall at Short Hills as part of the New Creative Media travel campaign. All opinions expressed are my own as were all other expenses.
Susan and I took the scenic route all around The Mall at Short Hills parking lot. We knew we had to go to the Cheesecake Factory and a stop at the service desk was in order so we could learn all about the stores this mall has to offer. We parked near Macy’s since we both agreed that was definitely a stop we wanted to make. (She got pants for $8.00 for work and I got a maxi dress for $15 but more on that later!)
Walking in we are greeted by the most beautiful waterfall! This mall was so gorgeous! Beautiful, clean and luxurious even. The couches and chairs just called out to be sat on, but there was shopping till we are dropping to be done before we can enjoy those! Heading to the service counter we received our Mall at Short Hills shopping bags (be sure to stop by and get one of your own) and found that they were kind enough to provide me with a sneak peek at some of what the stores in the mall have to offer. I also found out that The Mall at Short Hills is a registered ticket master outlet and offers complimentary strollers – not just for your human kids but the pet kind too!
Money Saving Tip: While at the service desk we received not just map but a list of stores and what you can get for free or discounted at each of the stores listed. For example stopping into Lush and you received some free samples and a complimentary face or hand consultation.
The map and the list were quite possibly one of the most important things we needed for the mall. And let me just say this mall was GORGEOUS! Beautiful natural lighting, escalators to the second floor and fine dining throughout. Some of my favorite stops included Macy’s, Lush, Brookstone, Foot Locker, Gap/Kids (no they weren’t with me but I have to bring SOMETHING back!), Coach, Michael Kors, and of course a stop at the Apple store (gadget girls unite) as Susan and I discuss the merit of her iPhone over my Verizon Samsung.
The shopping is done and it’s time to relax and enjoy a little bit of down time. Up next, Cheesecake Factory!
