Slow Cooker Meatball Hoagies Recipe
I admit I skipped some steps and started with premade Italian Meatballs from HEB for this recipe. I’ve found that these slow cooker meatballs are also very versatile. I’ve used them in Hoagie sandwiches, as Open Faced Sandwiches on Texas Toast as well as in Spaghetti and Meatballs. I love it when I find a recipe that I can use for more than one meal.
1 large bag of Italian Meatballs
2 15 ounce cans of Red Gold Tomatoes Basil, Garlic and Oregano
1 15 ounce can Tomato Puree
Instructions: Cook in slow cooker on low for approximately 2 hours.
To make hoagies use your choice of bun, add whole meatballs to inside of bread. Sprinkle with a little Parmesan cheese and then top with Mozzarella cheese. To toast, place in toaster oven on 425 for approximately 3 minutes or use the “toast” feature.
For open faced sandwiches cook Texas Toast in oven as directed. Top with meatballs and cheeses.
For spaghetti or other pasta dishes – cook pasta as instructed and top off with meatballs and sauce. Don’t be stingy with the sauce!
