Looking for something unique to give each one of my children or my husband this Valentine’s Day I found out about Heartfelt Books helps you find a way to say all the things you would love to say to someone special, not just for Valentine’s Day, but for every occasion such as a special “thank you” or an anniversary, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation or Just Because.
Here is how it works. You simply choose the person you want to create a book for. In my case, I wanted to create one for my oldest daughter who lives far away. I wanted her to have something special from me and her sisters while she is away at school or at her Father’s house that she can always look and know she is loved.
Next you answer the prompts provided to you. You can offer short answers telling your own story or choose from a selection of suggested answers. You choose from:
- Complete the thought (e.g. songs that remind me of you)
- Multiple answers (e.g. your top five talents)
- Short answers (e.g. I love to make you . . . )
- Simile comparisons (e.g. If you were a car. . . )
- and Blank Pages where you can write in your own text, include poems, stories or quotes to express your feelings for that special someone.
You do have to complete a certain number of questions in order to complete your book, but you do not have to complete them all.
Next you select your book leatherette cover color and style. There are three to choose from. Next you choose from among three fonts. I liked the scripted font, because it was more like I actually wrote this by hand (but if I had done that trust me she may not be able to read it).

Then you review your book. You can place your order immediately or you can have someone review it for you. If only everything I wrote had it’s own private editor – my Facebook status bar would look so much better!

What did I like about Heartfelt Books.com?
Not only was it so easy to actually express myself, I also didn’t feel like it was too “corny” or “mushy.” Of course you can go in that directly but my oldest daughter would not appreciate it. You can be as romantic, loving or humorous as you choose to be selection special things from your history, your future and your present to share. I was done with it within a few minutes, but yet it also provided some questions that were thought-provoking, which is actually a good thing. You don’t want this special gift to just be full of “fluff.”
I like that there are no pictures. I know that sounds funny, but we have pictures. We have them everywhere. We have pictures that have pictures and scrapbooks that have smaller albums. Pictures are easy. Words can be hard and this gift shows that you put a lot of thought into remembering all that is special about that special someone.
What didn’t I like about the Heartfelt Books?
There were just a few too many required questions. I felt I was done, but was required to answer four more in order to proceed to the next step. I would like to maybe save it as a draft and then go back and answer more, or decide when I am done.
Overall, Heartfelt Books is a beautiful, thoughtful gift that any person would be thrilled to receive as a gift. It’s unique and different and made just for them, by someone who cares about them and is able to show it.
