“Kids, (and Mr. Money Saving Parent – you especially) don’t touch my candy I’m saving it for recipes for the blog!” Yes, that is what life with a blogger is like. So, the other day my children took out my candy stash and said “Mom! We are ready to bake!” Now how can I saw no to those little faces? So we looked around the kitchen and found that it was pretty easy to make something with what we had in our pantry.
Come bake with us!
You will need:
A 13×9 Baking Pan.
Non stick cooking spray.
Your favorite brownie mix – and the ingredients that go with it.
Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cups – 1 cup approximately when chopped.
Spray baking pan and make batter according to box instructions.
I put the girls to work (after they washed their hands) opening up the Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter cups and cutting them in half.
Next they prepared the batter as instructed and poured it into the baking pan.
Now we wanted it to be sort of rough on top, because I thought of making Graveyard Brownies . . . but more on that later.
Place in oven and bake according to instructions.
Remove from oven and let cool. Now, I was going to slice these into rectangles and then create a headstone. But well, best laid plans and all that. I left the room and returned to find most of my rectangles gone. My family’s response?
See – We didn’t eat the candy mom!
I’m going to go with that means it was really, really good.
