I had the best time with this recipe. My daughter decided that it sounded like fun to get cooking in the kitchen with me. I thought that she was just going to put on the apron and pose for pictures but she really got right in there and worked on creating our Tex Mex Burgers.

This recipe starts out so simple!
1 lb of ground beef
Fresh cracked black pepper to taste
Mix thawed ground beef with Red Gold Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
Create beef patties and then grill to your choice of “done-ness”
You can also bake in the over for about 15 minutes on 375 degrees if it’s a bad day for grilling.
Top with your favorite toppings like avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, onion and you may also enjoy spicy ketchup. Mr. Money Saving Parent likes to mix it up with BBQ sauce.
Then we decided to spice things up a bit more. We also made the Queso Dip to go on top of our burgers. After all this is Texas and what’s more Tex-Mex than queso dip!
To make the queso did you will need:
1/2 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 block of Velvetta (or your choice) processed cheese product.
Slowing warm and simmer in a pot on top of the stove stirring frequently over medium heat till cheese is melted and bubble and all ingredients are mixed together.
This made just enough for us for dinner last night, but if having a party you will want to double.
Here’s our burgers before we loaded them up! After all you need to see all that yummy goodness before it’s got even more toppings on it.
