For this busy mom tying shoes for not one, but two kids everyday can be very time consuming. We have taught the older (1st grader) how to tie her shoes, but we still experience difficulties with looping and quite often the ties end up in knots that take even more time in the morning and evening to undo. With two girls in the house, I was thrilled to find something to try that could make life a little easier and faster in the morning as well as help the girls finish learning how to tie their own shoes without constant mom and dad instruction and help.
Loopeez Shoe Tying Aid has several different designs available. Here is mine:
You can visit the website and use the instructional video, but the instructional card that arrives with your Loopeez is very helpful, and you get a new set of shoe strings too, just to make sure they fit. My strings already fit through the loops easily, so now we have a back up pair in case these break.
This shoe tying aid had my daughter tying her own shoe after just two tries with instruction. After that she did it all by herself as you can see in the video posted!
What more can a mom say? Two times showing her and now she ties her own shoes!
She likes the colors and the butterfly design and I like that the Loopeez are sort of a rubbery, bendy surface easy to twist and clean if needed. I also like that they aren’t “connected” to a certain pair of shoes I can easily move them to whatever pair she decides to wear.
Loopeez are $5.95 for a two piece set and laces are sold separately for 4.99 a pair
