Visits to Total Wine and More are always fun. Sure, I walk in there with my list of items that we want to restock with but it’s also fun to walk around and enjoy the different tastings. We get to try several different wines, spirits or beers that normally we may not. This week when we made a trip in there to pick up items for a holiday party I was greeted by a very nice lady with Eggnog samples, a Bourbon Barreled Scotch, and Cinnamon Rumchata. As soon as I tasted it I had an idea for a drink I’d love to make for Christmas Eve for my husband and I to enjoy while we are wrapping gifts. After all anyone can have Chocolate Milk, but with a few extra steps you can have “Not Your Momma’s Chocolate Milk” instead!
You will need:
1/2 ounce of Spiced Rum
1 ounce Cinnamon Rumchata
1 tsp chocolate syrup
4 ounces milk
Place 1 tsp chocolate syrup into a shaker. Add 4 ounces milk. Place lid on and shake. Next add Spiced Rum, Cinnamon Rumchata and Ice. Shake again.
Dip your glasses into chocolate syrup.
Fill glasses close to the top leaving room for whipped cream. Be sure to strain it, do not include the ice in your glass.
Top with whipped cream and a sprinkling of nuts.
Your dessert drink is served!
My oldest (who is 22) likes it better when you add chocolate ice cream and blend it in the blender with very little ice. It gives it more of a milkshake texture. I was happy with simply shaking and sipping.
