Wouldn’t it be nice to have a facial? To take care of those eyebrows? Maybe have someone do your makeup for you? If you are like me all these things sound heavenly, especially a facial. But there are two things that keep us moms from doing them – and that’s time and money. Oh, and sometimes I don’t want to get “dressed up” to go to a fancy spa I just want to wear my yoga pants and get my eyebrows waxed or threaded so I don’t look like my 80s’ self! But what if there was a place you could go, even in your yoga pants and get all those pampering things done AND that you didn’t spend a fortune on? I found one this month as I had to opportunity to visit a brand new Seva Beauty Salon which recently came to the Houston area.

A little bit about Seva Beauty
Seva Beauty started in Chicago, IL. It has branched out to different states and cities and I found out that the one I visited here in Houston is actually opening up 2 more! While we don’t mind driving here, I am looking forward to seeing where the other two open up and if it’s a little closer to my house. Their motto is “Beauty to the People,” everyone should have the opportunity to feel and look good without taking out a second mortgage. They have a variety of skin care services including facials, lash extensions, threading, waxing, makeup application, lash boosts, as well as the products to take home. I can see them being a great economical option for anyone, whether it is getting your makeup on for a special occasion like a prom or simply getting your eyebrows or lashes touched up. Seva Beauty also offers gift cards so you can treat the ones you love to a skin care session that they may not normally treat themselves too.
Seva Beauty salons are located in the front of Walmart stores. Now I know what some of you are thinking, but my thought is why not? I mean there’s plenty of parking and JC Penny has Sephora and a hair salon in it, why not a Walmart? It’s recessed back from the front entrance and they had relaxing music playing in the background. The girls were a whole lot of fun and listened to me and my three friends, providing their suggestions and helping us make decisions as to what exactly we wanted to be done.
But aren’t facials and lash extensions expensive?
That was the second best part of going to Seva Beauty. The first part was that three of my friends went with me then we all stopped for a rare lunch out together before we headed back to work and beat our kids home from school. Seva Beauty was having a $25 deal! For $25 it covered my Flash Facial, Eyebrow Threading, and Lashes. For just $10 more I was able to add on an eyebrow tint. I thought I would give it a try. Hair removal of the upper lip, chin, cheeks, forehead, sideburns or neck is a $5 add-on. Adding makeup was $10! I got my fancy look for a special event that evening – a gala my husband and I were to attend. Sure it was a bit much for the daytime, but I looked good that night! I felt good too.
My morning started with the eyebrow threading, which I had never had done before. Normally I get them waxed. It was a lot more comfortable than waxing. I also had less redness and swelling than I normally do. Next was an eyebrow tint, which was another new beauty treatment for me. I didn’t like it at first (I’ll be honest) but about 24 hours later and longer I’m still really liking the shape and color. The one girl did such good “wings” on my friends’ makeup that I changed my mind about lash extensions so that she could do wings on my eyes too. It’s not only of my make up application talents.
After that was my flash facial. My favorite part of this was the mask. It smelled so good, there was some mint and lavender scent to it. My skin felt so good afterward. Now it’s time for the makeup. They did a nice, dramatic look and even asked me what I was wearing and tailored my look and colors to compliment my outfit. Did I mention that it lasted all day and through the night, but easily washed off that night?
Seva Beauty does bring beauty to the people with convenient and economical beauty options. And those options aren’t just in the store! My best friend brought home a foundation that she loved and it is even less expensive than the one she was using. She needed a new bottle anyway so why not get the color you like a little better and that cost a little less? We all had a good time and walked out feeling pampered – but with still enough money in our pocket to go out to lunch. It’s a good way to spend your precious time and money and still do a little something for yourself – or get a gift card and treat someone you love!
