Money saving ticket offers available at Texas Renaissance Festival

For the many years I have been living in Houston, I have been hearing some amazing things about the U.S. largest and most acclaimed renaissance fair and festival, the Texas Renaissance Festival.  Now that the girls are a little older we are so excited about attending.  But before we do, these money saving parents go looking for discounts, coupons and any other money saving offer we can find.

First, I want to learn as much as I can about the Texas Renaissance Festival and there is so much to learn!  There are shows, performances, games, contests, food, costumes, arts, crafts, rides and even more excitement during themed weekends.  So now that we know what sort of bang we are going to get for our buck we are ready to buy.    How much do tickets costs and are their discounts?

There are quite a few ways you can save money on your Texas Renaissance Festival.

Ticket prices at the gate and online are:  $25/adults and $12/children at the gate.  But you can save some money and purchase your tickets in advance online, at Randall’s or Walgreens.   Just a little preparation and your ticket price becomes $20/adults and $10/children on Saturday.  Sunday discounted ticket prices are $17/adults and $8.00/children.

Need a foursome of tickets?  Then the Family 4-pack (only available online) is the way to go with the ticket price for $40.00.  Get two adult and two children tickets saving you $34 from the gate price.

An Adult 4-pack is available for $60.00 (also only available online) saving you $40 off the gate ticket price.

Weekend tickets are available and you don’t even need to go on consecutive days.  A weekend pass for adults is $35/adults (Sat. and Sun. admission) and $14.00 for children.

Now here’s some more pricing details that families need to know. Children under 4 are free.  Adult pricing starts at age 12.  Special packages like those mentioned here can be bought online, by telephone or by mail.  Use the TRF Brochure for 2012 for even more information and to order your tickets by phone or mail.    Group and corporate rates are available so if you are interested in that you should call them directly.

Discounts are available for Seniors and Military.   Special $15.00 tickets may be purchased for Senior Citizens (over 62) and members of the US Military.  These discounts are ONLY available at the gate with valid ID. Members of the Military may purchase up to 4 tickets per Military ID per festival day at the discount price.

Parking is free!  (Hooray) and your ticket prices include performances, shows and exhibits.   Bring extra money for food, beverages, games and rides.   You can come and go from the festival – but you better get your hand stamped.

You can not bring in outside food or drink but you are able to bring in food for infants, toddlers and for medical reasons (but you need to prove it).  Food prices range from $3-12, drinks start at $2.50 and yes, there are ATM’s available as well as rental strollers and chairs.

While you may not get in free to the festival wearing your favorite renaissance wear, there are a few ways to save on your visit. It just takes a little planning ahead.
