Do you have pictures, documents, images, video, and music on your laptop, your cell phone, and your tablet? Wouldn’t you like to have them located all in one place? And what if that one place could also create collections for you, allow you to share, favorite, sort and organize all of these items all in one place? Sure we all have clouds available on our various gadgets, but do these clouds offer 500 GB or 1 TB of storage AND do all that? MiMedia does and now I’m on cloud nine! I’m organized and not worrying about those pesky little messages about my storage being filled or that I can’t find what I need to use because it’s on my iPad and not on my phone.
Just imagine you are getting ready to check into the most magical place on Earth (Walt Disney World) for an amazing family trip and as you tweet out your excitement you get THIS message on your cell phone. That would be BAD. Really really bad. I don’t have time to figure all that out so I headed to the Google Play store to download the MiMedia app to my cell phone. I had already used it on my desktop, so I knew that it was available and what the cloud storage could do. Now it was time to go from test drive to hitting the raceway at full speed.
MiMedia Cloud to the Rescue!
I knew that between speakers, the children’s excitement, the food and the rides at the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration that I was going to be taking a whole lot of pictures and video as well as writing notes and of course hitting the park. I needed to store what was on my phone fast as well as have enough space to be able to handle everything that was going to hit my new cloud storage fast over the next few days.
In just moments I had downloaded the app and selected over 1100 images, documents, and videos to upload. Select all is a wonderful feature and made uploading fast and easy. What was most impressive to me was that I was able to upload these over Wi-Fi! I don’t have an unlimited data plan so finding out that I didn’t have to use my data for it to work was something I can really get excited about. But what about when I get on a bus to head to the park and there’s no wi-fi? No problem it would pause in the uploads and then start back up again as soon as I turned the wi-fi back on.
That’s how easy it was. I added a short cut to my images folder and now I can access it any time I want. As you can see it’s all organized for me! I can upload to the phone from the cloud, organize, favorite and share too! It was like waving a magic wand and saying bippidi, bobbidi, boo and being able to do so much more with my photos, videos, music, and documents from anywhere!
Getting started with MiMedia
You can get started several different ways with MiMedia, but I liked setting it up on my laptop first and then adding it to my iPad and my cell phone after the account was created. Pick the plan you want from free, to 500GB to 1TB. I’m using the 500 GB to host all those over 1100 items, plus the items I uploaded from my laptop and from my back up drive.
FREE PLAN – 10 GB, 2,500 photos , 125 videos, 2,000 songs, 10,000 documents
BASIC PLAN – 500 GB $7.99/month of $85/annually 125,000 photos, 6250 videos, 100,000 songs, and 500,000 documents
PLUS PLAN – 1 Tb $9.99/month or $100/annually with 250,000 images, 12,500 videos, 200,000 songs, 1 million documents
My favorite features on MiMedia:
- Safely organizes my photos, videos, music and documents in one spot.
- Does not upload my duplicates! (Hooray!)
- Simplifies things for me. I can organize into collections, for example “Disney Vacation May 2016” and then find what I need when I want to use it.
- I can share old “memories” as it randomly selects things when I sign in that day to use my cloud.
- I’m so much more organized and it’s easy to share as well as favorite items that I will be using over and over again, both for work and play.
- Found images I had forgotten all about!
- Easy of use even when we were out and about. I didn’t have to worry about organizing or storing my images or videos from the Disney trip. I used the auto upload and anything I put on my phone was automatically uploaded to my personal cloud storage.
- Safe and secure sharing. I decide what is open to being viewed and what’s really fun is that when I’m, for example, traveling with my parents we can share and use the images from the cloud together. I just share the photos or video with them and we can all enjoy them on a case by case basis!
- Can upload images from Facebook, Dropbox and other places where I may have shared or stored my images.
I admit I wasn’t too interested in my personal cloud storage before. It was just one more place where things were stored but I couldn’t really do anything with them. But I’m so excited to be using the MiMedia personal cloud because it does all that I wanted my cloud to do and so much more. Places like Instagram or Spotify may allow me to “store” my images for free, but let’s face it. If it crashes – so do my images and videos too, AND it doesn’t include music and documents storage. Other services are just too limiting.
I’ve liked MiMedia so much that I have two ways for my readers to enjoy it too!
