A few years ago I changed many of my cleaning habits, hoping to make them a little more eco-friendly. Now I’m on the Mean Green Cleaning Team which means I get to spend the next few months trying out their products on some of the toughest as well as most frequent cleaning jobs our house has. This couldn’t have happened at a better time since we are also trying to sell our house and you know how important fresh and clean is when you are doing a showing!
My Very Mean Clean Experience
My shipment of a variety of Mean Green Cleaners arrived and it wasn’t a moment too soon. We had the house going on the market and there were still some tough cleaning jobs to tackle. But not just cleaning jobs and projects, it’s necessary to make sure for every showing (which I only have about 1 hours notice for) that the house smells clean and fresh and is looking clean too.
My very first showing and I was trying a new “eco-friendly” cleaner in the kitchen. I wiped off counters and sinks and walked out of the room to hit the bathrooms. My oldest daughter says “Mom what’s that SMELL!” I think it was supposed to be pine scented but it smelled more like an old Christmas tree than it did a fresh cut one which you just brought in the house.
Turning on all the lights I look at the counter tops. They are DULL and GRIMY. I can’t possibly leave the house looking like this. I ran my hands across the counter tops, consult with the oldest and agree – this is disgusting! There’s a build up of grime and cleaner, actually changing the color of the countertops. Luckily I had another cleaner and we quickly started to fix things before running out the door with seconds to spare.
Mean Green Cleaners
A few days later thank goodness my Mean Green Cleaner Kit arrived. Included in the products I’ll be testing and sharing with you are the Mean Green Orange Champ, Anti Bacterial Multi Purpose Cleaner, Super Strength Cleaner and Degreaser and Mildew Destroyer.
I started off with the Mean Green Orange in the kitchen. I LOVE the fresh orange scent and have been amazed at how well it cleans my stove top, especially after messy greasy cooking like bacon or sausage and spaghetti sauce (not together). I’ve also used it in the bathroom and on the floors. I’m liking what I’m seeing – and smelling.
Probably my favorite uses so far for the Antibacterial multi surface cleaner is the kitchen and bathroom. Need I say more? It kills 99% of germs and it’s cuts through grease and grime. “This product kills the following bacteria and viruses in 10 minutes: Salmonella enterica, Escherichia coli O157:H7, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Avian Influenza A Virus (H5N1), Herpes Simplex Type 1 Virus, Herpes Simplex Type 2 Virus, Influenza A (H1N1) Virus.” Talk about making my house happier and healthier, especially with strangers walking through it for showings.
Here’s my shower after the cleaning with Mean Green Mildew and Super Strength. Not mixed together and of course not all at one time. It’s not like I’ve never cleaned it but you now you worry about everything when you are selling a house. Even the grill and patio furniture. Compare the top and bottom of the grill. One has been cleaned – the other hasn’t.
Let’s talk about the “green” of Mean Green Cleaners.
- It’s biodegradable, non-toxic and contains no acid, ammonia, or bleach.
- Refillable bottles for less waste.
I also found out that the company which makes Mean Green also makes Dryel (I’ve used instead of Dry Cleaning) and Roto Rooter products (I’ve used these too!). You might be surprised at the other products in this “family” of cleaners.
Money Saving Tips: It’s not just the cleaner that is green, but you can also purchase larger size bottles and refill your spray bottles making for less waste! Save even more money with the reasonable price of these cleaners but it can’t hurt to print out this coupon.
Well there’s still plenty more cleaning to do, both inside and outside the house as well as in the new house so stay tuned for how all my projects work out with the Mean Green Cleaners. And think happy thoughts that my house sells quickly!
