It is back to school season. That means that busy people and parents have even more places to go, things to do and balls to juggle. My middle daughter must be at school for sports practice by 5:45AM and the other one for choice by 7:30AM. That makes for some chaotic, possibly too busy for breakfast, mornings. That’s why I’m excited about the brand-new Jimmy Dean® 9-ounce Bowls. Now we can have a hot and fast breakfast on those days when we must get out the door quickly.
Jimmy Dean 9oz Bowls are available in 3 flavors, Loaded Potato, Ranchero Steak and Eggs and Burrito Breakfast Bowls. I have had other Jimmy Dean breakfast bowls but these take those and kick them up a notch with their premium ingredients like seasoned red potatoes, specialty sauces and unique ingredients like Chorizo or Steak. They also contain 21-23 grams of protein and with 9oz servings, they are a nicer sized portion than other breakfast bowls.
We were experiencing Hurricane Harvey and it is hard to concentrate on making any food from scratch. We sort of should be prepared to drop everything and run for shelter should the tornado warning sound. The Jimmy Dean 9oz Bowls really came in handy as they cook in about 3 minutes and there are no dirty dishes. The Loaded Potato Breakfast Bowl adds seasoned red potatoes, eggs, sausage, bacon, cheddar and white three cheese sauce together to make a meal in an instant. Well not an instant, but in three minutes.
I wish I had more pictures, but I am afraid that with everyone in the house, breakfast and well, every meal was eaten a little too fast.
My daughter’s boyfriend (got caught here in the storm) really enjoyed the Ranchero Steak and Eggs Bowl, but he recommends that you follow the cooking directions. He didn’t. Cook, stir, cook and stand. THEN eat and enjoy! Apparently, he decided that stirring and standing was too much effort.
These breakfast bowls aren’t just for breakfast. Just heat and eat for any meal including lunch and dinner. The girls were excited about a “breakfast for dinner” night, and this is one way we could enjoy that together and still get everyone where they need to be for them after school and extracurricular activities. Mr. MoneySavingParent is happy to have a new item to take to work for his lunch break. Me, I grabbed a tortilla and added my Jimmy Dean 9oz Bowl to it so I could take it on the run out the door.
