Each year for the past few years we have hosted a Halloween party. We try to have a different theme, with the children taking turns on what that theme would be. Last year it was a Peanuts Halloween Party and this year it’s one Bewitching Halloween Party. My middle daughter couldn’t quite make up her mind so it is a cross between Witches and The Wizard of Oz. After all some of the most famous witches of all are in the Wizard of Oz! Each year our planning starts with Oriental Trading, one of our favorite places for party, school and craft supplies.

Bewitching Halloween Party Planning
Before we even decided on a theme we headed to the Oriental Trading Halloween site. It helps us brain storm ideas and since we are all very visual it makes it so much easier to decide on what we need and want. It’s also a lot of fun to be able to shop with the girls and see them get excited about their selections.
While almost everyone dresses up for the Halloween party this year the dads may not find it so easy. Sure they could be a wizard or a warlock but I do know this particular theme is a little harder for them than for us. They can wear whatever they want of course but with these Halloween Photo Props it makes it easy for everyone to get into the spirit of the holiday. What I love most is that they are already put together. I bought some on Amazon for a Holiday Party photo books and I had to attach all the sticks to the photo prop cards with this tape they sent with it. There’s just enough variety to make things fun and I can’t wait to try them!
This is another item from our shipment that we really are excited to share! It’s a two tiered Halloween Haunted House Treat Display. Some assembly is required but my tween had it put together in minutes. Then you have paper cones you roll and fill with candy or treats (I was thinking maybe a spooky snack mix) and everyone enjoys. So it’s a great entry way greeting, a leave the party parting gift (roll the top down to make it a bag) or just something to enjoy throughout the party.
The girls were so excited to get the Halloween Silhouette Paper Lanterns. We have this nice covered patio and it has Christmas lights across the top of it. It’s going to look so cool as we hang them around the edge and the light shines through it. One word of caution though, the metal hooks need to be handled gently.
The Witches Leg Yard Stakes are going into the front yard and right now we are trying to figure out the best way to create a yellow brick “road” on our front walkway. We have been saving all our ideas to our Wizard of Oz Pinterest Board. The Black Cauldrons are actually koozies, to keep canned beverages cold but we think they would be great for serving some of our snacks. I love the brainstorming, party planning stage almost as much as I love hosting the party! Last by not least we have the Orange Plastic Disposable Cups to serve our party punch in.

Oh and don’t forget how easy it is to buy big bags of candy for your little Trick or Treaters on OT too!
