Far too often I hear my youngest daughter say “I’m too little I can’t do it!” so I was so excited to introduce her to the Hearts for Hearts Girls. Hearts for Hearts Girls are dolls from around the world that show that you are not too little to make a change or to celebrate the world around you.
A little more about Hearts for Hearts Girls . . .
Hearts to Hearts Girls are dolls, based on girls from around the world. My daughters found themselves the proud owners of Consuelo from Mexico and the latest 2012 doll, Lauryce from LA, USA. However, there are a number of other dolls available from Brazil, India, Belarus, Laos, Ethopia, Mexico, and Dell, also from the USA. These dolls are not only beautiful but have a heart – a heart to create a change in their world. Lauryce, decided after Hurricane Katrina to help with the pet shelters, especially those that were home to pets left homeless after hurricanes. Consuelo and Lauryce were warmly welcomed in our home with a welcome home party from around the world in celebration of the Hearts for Hearts Girls.
The best part about the Hearts for Hearts dolls is that my daughters and their friends learned, not only about places around the world through the stories included, passports, music and food, but also through the wonderful activities online that they can participate in as well as the stories the girls have to tell, and the games available online. Head to Hearts for Hearts Girls and play games with your favorite dolls in their own culture and find out even more about the world around you. But this is only available through the code provided with your doll purchase.
The details on the Hearts for Hearts Girls was exquisite! From head to toe these girls were decked out in clothing and accessories from their home. This is just one other way my daughter’s and their friends found out more about the global world.
Though I admit that one of the best things about the Hearts for Hearts Girls was reading the fascinating stories about these girls every day lives and what they do to make their corner of the world that much brighter.
We traveled the world with the Hearts for Hearts Girls at our party! First we found each and every girls country on the world map and marked it. Next we enjoyed some amazing foods from around the world, but most especially from the world in which Consuelo and Lauryce lived in (Mexico and Louisiana). Fajitas are a favorite in our family and it gives the girls a chance to create their own meal and thanks to Lauryce (and a recent trip to Louisiana) we could enjoy Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice and Sausage. We also enjoyed a CD created with music in from each of the girls countries.
Now, it’s time to grab your passport and decide where you would like to go! Each doll comes with a passport showing where each doll is from and giving girls a chance to decide where they would like to go and who they are. Drawing your passport picture at our party took quite a bit of time, because 7 yr. olds like to add quite a few details!
Now it’s time to decide what can we do to make the world around us better. Each of the party attendees thought of one way that they could make a difference, because even little girls can make a change. One girl wanted to stop bullies on the playground. Another girl wanted to help lost pets in our area. We then wrote down ideas that each girl could take home to show mom and dad to help them with their ideas to make a change – and show some heart.
One of the best things about our party was that it was during the Summer 2o12 Olympics. All of a sudden things “clicked!” and the girls recognized countries and participants in the Olympics after learning about the girls at the party.
Hearts for Hearts Girls do more than teach our children about the world around them, and their ability, no matter what their age, to make a change. Each beautifully designed Hearts for Hearts Girl purchase results in a donation through their charitable partner, World Vision, to programs that support girls in that country. Whether it’s malaria nets in Africa, schoolbooks in Asia, or food supplies in the US, these programs help girls to thrive and succeed.
These dolls are also beautiful with details and designs that help encourage creativity and diversity with your daughters and their friends too!
The girls love these dolls, and appreciate the stories behind them. Sure, the party may be over, but the dolls and their special moments and hearts are still in the house. I like that they encourage my girls and the girls from the party to make a change, do something different and learn more about the world around them.
Now they can join the community online with the special code included with their dolls and play games as well as (with a parents permission) share their stores for change.

What a great way to learn about other cultures!
