True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost. ~Arthur Ashe
Thanks to all those who have served, including my dad, my cousins, my nephew and friends.
Today, before or after your summer kickoff celebrations filled with food, fun, family and friends you may like to take a moment to celebrate those that make our way of life possible. You can visit the Virtual Wall of Remembrance today, on PBS.org and celebrate those currently serving, those that have served and those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. It’s a wonderful way of showing support, honoring them and their families that make sacrifices for us all.
A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. ~Joseph Campbell
At your request your message will be ceremonially hand-carried and delivered directly to the appropriate memorial site: the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial or Arlington National Cemetery (for Iraq & Afghanistan).
If you have time, take a moment to hear this veteran’s thoughts on Memorial Day, when she shares why “Freedom isn’t free.”
Happy Memorial Day to you all!
