After shopping at Elaine Turner it seemed like a really good idea to reward the dads and kids with a delicious meal and everyone loves pizza. Grimaldi’s Coal Brick – Oven Pizza has newly arrived in CityCentre and it was just around the corner. All of us headed over there for a family style sit down meal.
That’s a seasonal Summer Sangria available for a limited time. Wonderfully sweet and refreshing, if it hadn’t been 100 degrees outside I’m sure it would have been fun to enjoy it on the patio.
I loved that there is a little room off to the side for our whole party to be able to sit together. The children were able to get hang out a little bit, talking and playing Minecraft while we all decided on what to eat. I loved that it’s family style dining as it made it so much easier for us all to talk together. By the way – right now Grimaldi’s is a Pokemon Go stop. If you are playing there is even more reason to stop by!
The menu has some new items on it include a new KALE salad. Other salads included a Mediterranean, Caesar, and Spinach. I know Kale is the new “in” thing and it was delicious, but I honestly loved the Spinach Salad best. But I knew I needed to save room for the brick oven baked pizzas, also freshly made.
Did you know they even try to recreate the water from New York in order to make the pizza dough as authentic as possible?
Not just any old “cheese” pizza but one that melts in your mouth and the cheese just oozes off when you take a bite – the Quattro Formaggi is a four cheese pizza with Mozzarella, Asiago, Parmesan, Pecorino Romano & Gorgonzola cheese. The kids were surprised that so much cheese could be on a cheese pizza!
The Don is their Traditional Pizza Topped with Italian Sausage, Meatballs and Pepperoni. This one disappeared fast with family and friends trying to all be the first to grab it. I admit I didn’t even get a slice but the girls both said it was delicious! It’s all good – no pun intended – because I truly enjoyed The Brooklyn Bridge with Oven Roasted Red Peppers, Creamy Ricotta Cheese and Hand Pinched Italian Sausage, on top of their Traditional Pizza. The Ricotta Cheese really stood out on this one and I’m looking forward to getting it again soon. Good thing there are TWO Grimaldi’s Pizza places within a short drive of my house!

Fun, food, friends and family – what more could we have asked for out of lunch? The food was delicious and unique. The service was super. Everyone was filled up and ready to hit CityCentre for more shopping or headed downtown to take advantage of the CityPass visiting some of Houston’s hottest attractions.
