While I’m not one for “New Year’s Resolutions,” I do set goals, both for the new year and throughout the year. One of those goals last month was to find ways to be a little more organized. Sometimes that means just putting things where they go when they arrive in the house and other times it means I need to buy things to properly store things. In this case, I was able to try out the GeckoTech Reusable Hooks to see how they can help me and the whole household keep it all together.

“Mom! I can’t find Jack’s leash!” It’s time for his daily walk and I would say 5 out of 7 days someone can’t find his leash. Apparently we all have our own favorite place to place it when we are done taking him out but no one in the family knows where those places are. Poor dog, he does the potty dance while we look for it.
This was one of my organizational fix it problems to solve. It shouldn’t be that hard to find the leash every day. The GeckoTech Resuable Hook (up to 3lb size) is now the proud holder of our dog’s leash. Everyone knows where it is and where it is supposed to be – now if only they would actually use it!
“Mom! I can’t find my backpack!” Now I have no idea why they can’t find it after my over 150.00 organizational spree for the beginning of the school year which included cubbies for their shoes and backpacks. But I digress. I tried the up to 5lb GeckoTech Reusable Hook to solve this problem, but with not as much success. It’s no fault of the hook that my daughter’s backpacks weigh more than the weights in an IronMan competition.
But I did find that it solved one of my other problems. That of tossing their jackets on the newel post of the staircase. For some reason a messy entry way really bugs me. And, frequently everything is just dropped and tossed the minute they walk in the door. The GeckoTech Reusable Hook made it easier to store their jackets so they 1) they were hung up and 2) they didn’t keep pulling down coat hangers in the closet in their mad rush to get out the door.
The hooks were easy to apply to my door after following the instructions. I think I what I like best about this hook is that it uses silicon and suction to stay in place. It’s not like other hooks I’ve used that leave a sticky, gummy surface on my walls or doors.
So, now we can find the dog leash and hang up our coats. If only they would put their backpacks in the cubbies my entry way would be sitting pretty.
