Free printables! A “Brave” dance and Scottish language lesson

Are you ready to be “BRAVE?”  Just in time to beat the summer heat, Disney Pixar will be sharing the animated feature film “Brave” with audiences.

Now, you may have just gotten your summer boredom blues started but here is one way to get the wiggles out and the giggles flowing. Print out these directions to dance and get the whole family learning the Highland Scottische!

Now just in case you are afraid you might need a cheat sheet for the movie and the language here’s this helpful BRAVE Scottish glossary.  Wonder what some of these words to learn may be?

WILL O’ THE WISPS - Ghostly lights or small blue spirits that lead the way to treasure or doom.

TOSSING CABERS

A test of strength and skill seen in Highland Games in which the competitor raises a pole vertically with the small end down, and then throws it Caber = a long, tapered section of a tree trunk

STUFF HER GOB – Eat with abandon (gob = mouth)

GIANT HAVING A JIGGER IN THE BLUEBELLS - Similar to Dancing Tatty Bogle, something that’s absurd or fantastical.
Be sure to print out your list of interesting words to learn just in time for “Brave’s” release June 22!
