Welcome to The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival 2012! Our family had an amazing time enjoying a wide selection of performing arts, arts and crafts, home deco, sculptures, jewelry, drawings, paintings and so much more.
We arrive and the hardest thing to decide is which “way do we go!” The art exhibits and items for sale are each unique and distinctive with a variety of genres and forums. I recommend taking time to enjoy a boat right (which is not included in the price of admission but worth the cruise). The waterway cruise gives you a relaxing view of the entire festival from top to bottom with stops along the way.
Making our way to the children’s art section we stop to listen to some live music entertainment and take a look at one red hot Chevy Malibu with Eco-Boost. Chevrolet Houston was one of the many sponsors of The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival and the Malibu grabbed admirers, old and young alike. Chevy took eco-friendly one step further giving out these BPA free water bottles that were exactly what we needed to share our water bottles between the girls.
Next we headed to the children’s section that was filled with many interesting and entertaining arts activities. The girls enjoyed meeting the horse riding troops, answering trivia questions from St. Luke’s Hospital (and winning prizes with the correct answers), painting and creating butterflies. One of the most interesting activities allowed families to sign a block to be used in the building of a home with Habitat for Humanity.
We had such a good time at The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival! If we could we would have gone back on Sunday, but we had tickets for the Houston Aero’s game. We will remember next time that weekend passes are the BEST way to enjoy this family fun-filled festival!
