Schlotzsky’s has long been a favorite of both mine and Mr. Money Saving Parent. But for some reason the kids were holding out on us. “No we don’t want to go there!” However all that has changed after a recent restaurant grand opening event here in our area.
The first thing the girls noticed when they walked into the restaurant was the brand new ice cream topping bar.
Don’t worry, there is hot fudge and strawberry sauce toppings too. Sure, let’s just get that yummy part out of the way okay? As I promise the girls ice cream AFTER they eat their dinner they spy with their little eyes the brand new sign for Cinnabon! Who could resist that oohey, gooey, goodness? Not me!
But we will have to on this night because they don’t start serving them until tomorrow.
Next up, decisions, decisions. Do we do the sandwich or the pizza? It’s no contest and thanks to Mr. Money Saving Parent I didn’t have to make one either. We split my Chicken Fiesta Sandwich and his BBQ Pizza. The girls got Pepperoni Pizza, which I don’t have a picture of because well . . . they ate it too fast.
Now, the moment we have . . . ahem. . . the kids have been waiting for! I scream, you scream we all scream for Ice Cream!
Select from Chocolate, Vanilla and Chocolate Swirl. Then add your toppings and a sweet treat is served.
The girls loved the giveaways and scored some coupons for some sweet treats for our next visit. They got to meet the general manager who agrees that the topping bar is the best part of all! (He’s was so nice to the whole family, thank you!) Cece scored a new lunch box too. What a great grand opening!
As for me, we had a great dinner out. The kids had a good time. I didn’t have to do the dishes and the prices are so reasonable – especially when you sign up for the Fun and Buns email newsletter and get news and special offers in your email box. \
I asked the girls before we left, “Can we go to Schlotzky’s now for lunch of dinner?” “YES!” they squeal.
