The Houston Auto Show is back and we are so excited about the opportunity to attend it again! Last year I had so much fun at the opening night gala, but even more fun as my friends and I spend the day learning all about vehicles from concept cars to improvements in brands we know and love. This year I’m excited to find out some exciting new information from Toyota and to offer my readers this amazing chance to win tickets to the Houston Auto Show!

In Toyota News
There’s so many exciting things happening with vehicles and going to the auto show means I get to be introduced to all these improvements first hand. But that’s just one of my many reasons to attend the Houston Auto Show. (Read more about my reasons why you should attend the Houston Auto Show!) In Toyota news I’ll be checking out these enhancements and improvements:
The 2018 Toyota C-HR Crossover which now has a bold, eye-catching style, and Sharp Nürburgring-Tuned Handling. The C-HR receives Two Toyota-First Features: Driver Distraction Secure Audio and Brake Hold Function, Standard 18-in. Alloy Wheels, Dual-Zone Climate Control, Bucket Seating and 7-in. Audio Display. It is also the only vehicle in its segment with standard pre-collision system with Active Braking – Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) with Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. I know I’m really excited to see how the pre-collision system with active braking handles! Just imagine how much safer our driving could be, especially here in Houston! I know I’ve experienced it once before (not with Toyota) and am not really sure how I feel about it but with one younger driver in the family and two more just a couple years away from driving I’m all about learning the newest safety measures available.
The Toyota Camry has been the best selling car in the U.S. for 16 years. But the same great car is getting a brand new look with an “emotionally charged design” and performance experience, exterior character lines and low center of gravity. I’m excited about the new design and can’t wait to check it out. I remember in high school my best friend drove a Camry, in college many of my friends drove them (apparently they were very affordable too) and now I get to see where Toyota has gone with the new look.
The Toyota Rav-4 Adventure has dirt inspired styling and higher ride height. For those who love a grand adventure this sounds like the SUV to have out and about.
And did you know that the Toyota Tundra and Tacoma are built here in TEXAS at Toyota San Antonio facility? How cool is that? It’s like having a “hometown hero” at the show!
But this news could be a marriage made in heaven. I’m not sure exactly how it will all work but Toyota is bring the Amazon Alexa to several of its vehicle line! Select Toyota and Lexus vehicles with Toyota Entune 3.0 App Suite and Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0 will have Amazon Alexa which allows drivers access to music, directions, news, add to a shopping list, control their smart home (no more asking did you adjust the thermostat before we left) and so much more – and not at the touch of a finger – but at the sound of your voice! Now you can do more, while your hands stay at the 10 and 2 position (or is it different now?) as you spend time on the road for fun and work. (Source: Toyota Press Room)
Toyota isn’t the only one that will be at the show with exciting news in the auto industry. I’ve been able to experience luxury vehicles, hybrids and classics, road test drives and check out the latest in safety measures on all sorts of vehicles. The auto brands available to explore really do run from Acura to Volvo. I’m hoping that I’ll even get a look at the 2019 Ford Ranger.
