Maybe the quote “pride goeth before a fall” is all too true. Just Saturday morning I was patting myself on the back that it was the last weekend before the children start school and all the school supplies were purchased, new shoes had been broken in, and hair cuts were just the way they should be. The only thing left was to purchase a new lunch box (apparently a first grader wouldn’t be caught on the school bus with the one that was perfectly acceptable last year) and a thermos set, so that we can pack healthy lunches instead of the school lunches that caused some parental dismal last year. We had started our back to school bedtimes and things were looking good until my freezer died.
What does a freezer have to do with back to school you ask? It means Saturday I ended up fridge/freezer shopping instead of thermos lunch box shopping. It means Sunday I am cleaning out a fridge and awaiting delivery of the new one. The domino’s of my carefully planned weekend are falling. Our delivery is the last one of the day so it is late afternoon before we can leave the house. We head out hoping that the fridge and freezer are cold at our return so we can save all our food that is stored coolers in the hallway. Determined to make the best of things, we head out to see Spy Kids 4D and do the last of our shopping.
Sounds like things are going good so far right? Unfortunately . . . . continue reading Did Mom get an “F” on the first day of school?
