I have a weakness for candles, especially those that smell great, but what if I could find one that had the added bonus of being a clean burner, made with soy, looks beautiful and also offers me a “diamond in the rough?” That would describe Diamond Candles. If you haven’t heard of them this quick video can give you “just the facts.”
Here is how it works. You order one of their wonderful aromatic soy candles for $24.95. I chose Apple Slice because the color (green) matches my kitchen and I love the scent of apples. You have a great many scents to choose from and if it is a gift and you aren’t sure what to send, give them a gift certificate.
My candle arrived and it smelled so good when I was just opening the box. I couldn’t wait to start burning it, not only for the sweet smell, but to find out what my surprise inside was. Because these aren’t just any soy candles, but there is a “surprise” inside each one of them, a ring that may be worth $10 or may be worth $5,000 and a few other amounts in between.
After burning down the candle some, I’m afraid the teen got a look at the wrapping and was ready to grab the ring and hold on tight. Because the wax was hot and she was excited we used a fork to lift the packing up.
And what to our wondering eyes should appear? A beautiful ring! Now you can’t see all the details from the picture but there is a Peridot in the center – which is funny because it is also my birthstone!
So here we have a beautiful ring, which by the way fits both my teen and myself so we are taking turns wearing it (until I can get it appraised because I think it’s probably a pretty penny in this ring) and a beautiful soy candle in my kitchen that has the pleasing scent of green apples. It’s tart and crisp and with my own floor plan works its way into other rooms, without being overwhelming or chemical smelling.
You can find out more about Diamond Candles on their website and on their Facebook page.
