Bear Creek County Kitchens
Bear Creek Country Kitchens offers a variety of packaged soups, pasta, rice, and the brand new mac and cheese. They began by creating the homemade mixes that create meals just like mom used to make, and more importantly, it’s just like I would make if I always had the time to create all my meals from scratch.
I’ve picked up Bear Creek Country Kitchens products at stores like HEB and Whole Foods and made the Southwestern Rice which is a popular item at my home on Mexican night. So I was very excited to be able to try the brand new soups now available from Bear Creek Kitchens and share them with you. Our family tried the:
- Creamy Chicken, which is a “A rich and creamy homestyle chicken soup with shell pasta, carrots and celery.”
- Chicken with Pasta, a “Hearty chicken soup with rotini pasta, carrots, and garden fresh herbs.”
- As well as the, Chicken Rice mix, with “Hearty rice and tender pasta in a savory chicken flavored sauce with a garden of tasty carrots, peas, and peppers.”
Chicken with Pasta
Bear Creek Soup Chicken with Pasta was a real winner with my family. My youngest looked a whole lot like Oliver Twist must have as he said “More soup please sir,” only to find out that the soup was all gone. I admit it didn’t take long to disappear! See the beautiful broth, seashell pasta, seasonings and carrots? Delicious!
To make Chicken with Pasta, I simply boiled water with chopped up, cooked chicken. Using a whisk I added the envelope of mix and gave it a few stirs. After bringing to a boil again, I set it on simmer. It was that easy! Everyone in the family enjoyed the meal, even though there were vegetables in it. Can you believe it! My kids normally try to avoid my soups but the carrots were so good! The sauce was rich and creamy with a touch of herbs and I really wish I had two packages to make.
Chicken Sausage and Rice
I like to make a nice Mardi Gras meal, but this year I admit I was running short on time for both the cooking and the shopping. Bear Creek Country Kitchens made it possible for me to make a delicious Mardi Gras meal of Chicken Sausage and Rice. I started off with boiling 4 cups of water (this is an increase from the 3.5 cups that the envelope calls for and chopped cooked chicken. I then added half a package of beef sausage and brought it to a boil. Next add the Chicken Rice mix and be sure to whisk it (this works so much better than a spoon). Bring to a boil again and then bring down to a simmer. I ended up with a delicious chicken, sausage and rice combo that was perfect once we added a dash (or more as some like it Red Hot) of hot sauce. The carrots, peas and peppers added just the right amount of vegetables without me spending lots of time chopping and cooking. My meal was ready in just minutes and for this busy mom, that means a lot!
Chicken with Pasta Soup
The Bear Creek Chicken with Pasta was warm and soothing. We were so cold here today and actually so tired of the cold! I know it’s nothing compared to what some others are experiencing but for us it’s pretty bad. It not only calls for some hot soup and grilled sandwiches, but also for comfort food. The Chicken with Pasta Soup hit the spot! Tender Rotini Pasta, carrots, herbs it was the family’s second favorite of the three we were able to try. I admit I decided not to do much for this one, since the first Chicken Soup was so good. I just made it according to directions and added grilled cheese to the meal. It was warm and delicious, filling and I admit, it is totally and completely gone.
One way of knowing if a meal is really, really good, and one worth serving again and again as well as serving to friends and family is when the family not only enjoys it but there is absolutely none of it left over. Sure that means your family loves the meal, but it also means there’s none for mom for lunch the next day!
