Last week we introduced you to Cirque Italia, an “Aquatic Spectacular” innovative and unique “traveling circus” production. This weekend we headed up to Austin to be among the first in Texas to check it out. Since our theme for the day was “aquatic spectacular” we created our schedule around even more aquatic fun in Austin by adding stops for aquatic attractions and dining.
Disclosure: I’ve partnered with Bloggin’ Mamas & Cirque Italia to share this upcoming tour stop with my readers, and am being compensated for this partnership. All other expenses and opinions expressed are my own.
Cirque Italia
The brand new themed Cirque Italia production has a new look and a new title. After six years of enhancements, a rigorous casting selection, and countless performances nationwide, this newest form of Cirque Italia’s innovative and unique “traveling circus” spectacular production is set to be its finest to date.
Aquatic Spectacular came to life all thanks to its imaginative creator Manuel Rebecchi, along with invaluable direction and production management by Chanté DeMoustes. Cirque Italia’s brand-new theme show is an artistic blend of human abilities, technology and the element of water. This one-of-a-kind production combines water fountains, jet-skis, pirates, and more in a fun-filled atmosphere all ages are sure to enjoy. Everyone from our family had a different performance which was their favorite, and that simply adds to the fun! I love it when we all enjoy the same event, but maybe not all for the same reasons.
Stopping to check out the shopping there’s a fun array of toys and balloons which actually aren’t just souvenirs but add to the family’s enjoyment of the big top experience. Those light “sabers” and wands – you may want to get one because there’s a couple of different moments during the show where they really add to the excitement and experience. I actually got a kick out of Spongebob Squarepants balloon which looked like it was “clapping” in celebration of the different performances. Face painting is also offered, if you arrive early you can beat the line! It also gives you a chance to grab a great smelling snack like popcorn and in our case glow in the dark light up frozen drinks.
The Cirque Italia Aquatic Spectacular combines a unique theatrical production with skill, technique, beauty, and excitement in two hours of entertainment. Here’s a look at some of the excitement!
- Beautiful aerialists
- Contortion in a bubble
- A Venetian aerial duo
- An imaginative laser light display
- Duo jugglers,
- Duo roller-skaters
- Breathtaking wheel of death
I admit during the wheel of death and the tightrope walkers, I held my breath and gasped in surprise and a tingle of fear with some of the acrobats performed. In this whimsical production, we also had dancing and acrobatic butterflies and dancing dinosaurs. Little ones will love the opportunity to meet these show favorites during the intermission and get their pictures taking with them. In between each act, the audience is not only entertained but engaged as the ringmaster gets everyone involved, even singling out a person or two to perform with him.
